10 May CSA Starts in One Month!
Only one month away!
Hello again from New Dawn Farm!
Wow! We are one month away from yet another CSA season and we cannot wait! This year has already proved incredibly productive and we are planting more than ever before. We expect this will be an awesome year for New Dawn Farm and we would love for you to join us!
Now is the time to sign up!
When you sign up with New Dawn Farm, you are assuring yourself a steady and bountiful supply of local produce all season long. This year we are making it more accessible than ever by offering the following pickup locations: on farm in Westmoreland, at Antioch University in Keene, at Eastern Mountain Sports in Peterborough, and at our booth at the Brattleboro Farmers’ Market.
So please, visit our online farm shop to sign up for your 2019 CSA share today! Thank you and we hope to see you soon!
Whew! ‘Twas a very busy week indeed!
The first week of May generally means the first outdoor transplanting. Given that this year has been a tad drier than years passed (knock on wood) we were able to get some beds prepped and planted right on schedule. We managed to get our hardy brassicas (kale, broccoli, cauliflower, etc.), fresh onions, shallots, and leeks planted with ease!
Welcome to our KSC Dietetic interns!
We never would have been able to achieve what we did this week without the help of Lauren and Paloma, our dietertic interns from Keene State College. They will be with us for the next two weeks to help out on the farm and learn about local food systems. A big thank you as well to our new full-time employee, Shay! Lots of strong women at New Dawn Farm!
Here’s what we predict will be available at the Brattleboro Farmers’ Market this Saturday:
Anything we are unsure of will be denoted with a (?)
- Hakurei turnips
- Bok Choy (Full and Baby)
- A variety of plant starts!
- Microgreens (?)
- Head lettuce (?)
Come say hello if you are in the area! It is forecasted to be a beautiful day and we would love to see you!
