05 Apr Get ready for green!
This week at New Dawn Farm
Whew! It was a wicked busy week. We did our first transplanting of the season and put some lettuce, salanova, beets, scallions, and cilantro in the ground. The start of this season has been a learning experience as we have a new greenhouse at our disposal that we haven’t had before. We’re taking full advantage of it by filling it with early crops before we make way for our big summer producers (tomatoes and cucumbers). We also seeded our second round of salad mix, radishes, and turnips so we have a continual supply!
Find us at the market
Although the CSA season doesn’t begin until June, we will be participating in the Brattleboro Farmers’ Market for our second year beginning May 4th! It runs every Saturday through October 27th from 9 AM until 2 PM at 570 Western Ave (Route 9) in Brattleboro, VT. Here we will be selling the early crops we’ve been busy planting as well as plant starts. We will also be making some of this available at our farmstand (more details to follow in the coming weeks).
If you are near the Peterborough area, you may also consider visiting us at Greenerborough, a one-day market and fair promoting sustainability in the community. We will have a booth where we will be selling some goods as well as providing information on our CSA. Come see us there on May 4th at ConVal High School!
